Rehoming a companion parrot is a challenging and often emotional decision. The approaches explained in this course are best practices drawn from Parrot Partners' ten-plus years of experience in this area, and are designed to help you ensure a smooth and successful transition for your avian loved one.

What's Included?

When you are responsible to rehome a parrot - whether it is your own bird or you are helping someone else - paying close attention to a variety of details will help you find the very best home possible. This course will walk you through the journey of rehoming, right from making the initial decision, all the way to providing post-rehoming assistance. Here are the key topics we'll look at:

  • Considering options other than rehoming, so you can make a well-informed decision
  • Building a thorough rehoming plan
  • Advertising the parrot
  • Interviewing applicants, so you can choose just the right person/family for the bird
  • Building trust between the parrot and its future owner(s)
  • Writing a sales contract
  • Relocating the bird to its new home
  • Helping the new owner if they encounter problems shortly after the move.


Also included in this course are many easy-to-use tools that will simplify the rehoming process and ensure that everything goes smoothly. 
It will take approximately 90 minutes to complete the learning in this course (excluding filling in the various forms that have been included). Don't worry if you take more or less time than this, because each person is different. Also, remember that you don't need to complete the whole course in one sitting. You can stop and then pick up later where you left off as often as you'd like.
